While the fires burn to the south, the snow starts to fall here in New Albion. For a few days last week it seemed that Mister Winter had settled in and made himself at home: dark all day, rain and wind, clouds upon clouds, seas 18 feet at 14 seconds, red-letter warnings all over the marine forecasts. It's all on, and for most of us up here the odometer klicks are really starting to spin.
